Brian Laundrie Attempts to Apologize to Gabby Petito’s Mom Through Psychic

Brian Laundrie is looking for forgiveness.
Over three years after killing his ex-girlfriend Gabby Petito, celebrity medium Jonathan Mark says Brian wants to apologize to Gabby’s mother Nichole Schmidt.
“Brian Laundrie is one hundred percent trying to come through, but Gabby is not letting him come through,” Jonathan told Nichole in a teaser trailer for the Sept. 24 episode of the Connect with Jonathan Mark podcast shared exclusively with E! News. “I don’t want him coming through either, if I’m being honest with you. Unless you want him to, I’m not going to let him come through.”
But Nichole wasn’t completely against hearing from him. As she put it, “If he has something to say, I’d like to hear it.”
And Jonathan alluded to why Brian was trying to connect with Nichole from beyond the grave.
“It’s more of an apology,” he said. “I will say."
Nichole has previously opened up on finding forgiveness for Brian after her 22-year-old daughter was found strangled to death in Bridger-Teton National Forest following an Aug. 2021 trip with the 23-year-old. (Brian later confessed to Gabby’s murder before dying by suicide in October 2021).
“I speak for myself here when I say Brian, I forgive you," Nichole said during an appearance at CrimeCon 2024 in May. “I needed to release myself from the chains of anger and bitterness, and I refuse to let your despicable act define the rest of my life.”
Still, Nichole hasn’t found complete closure when it comes to her daughter’s murder. In fact, she alluded to continuing to harbor resentment for Brian’s mother Roberta Laundrie, who along with her husband Christopher Laundrie, Gabby’s family had previously accused of trying to cover up the murder in a since-settled civil lawsuit.
“As for you, Roberta, and I call you out individually because you are evidently the mastermind that shattered your family and mine with your evil ways,” Nichole added at CrimeCon. “I see no empathy in your eyes. No remorse in your heart and no willingness to take responsibility for your actions."
Roberta and Christopher have not spoken out since the lawsuit was settled, but their lawyer did respond to what was alleged in the 2022 lawsuit.
"Assuming everything the Petitos allege in their lawsuit is true, which we deny,” the Laundrie’s lawyer said in a statement to E! News at the time. “This lawsuit does not change the fact that the Laundries had no obligation to speak to Law Enforcement or any third-party including the Petito family."
